Yesterday we held our first State of the Second District event.

I was joined by my family and so many friends and colleagues for this special day. It was fantastic to see leaders from community organizations, businesses, government, and education join in the celebration.

The ARTIC in Anaheim was filled with the pageantry of folklorico dancers and the the sounds of music from the mariachi and local high school bands. I truly enjoyed highlighting the many partnerships and the people that make our District the dynamic and vibrant place that it is.

Hosted by the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the event allowed me to highlight the work of our office, and our public and private sector partners in the areas of workforce development, affordable housing, social services, and public safety. 

We have great opportunities to improve our District and leave a legacy for future residents. I will continue working on innovative efforts to create affordable and supportive housing, continue work on the County’s Climate Action Plan, and strengthen our economic development efforts.

I am excited for what the future will bring to the Second District and our County.
